WHAT WE BELIEVE

NASHVILLE'S AFFIRMING CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION

Mission and Values
What-We-Believe-1

Our mission is to provide Nashville with an affirming, non-denominational, Christ-centered place of worship. We value individuals and families from all walks of life, and from every level of faith.

Sacraments
What-We-Believe-2

Our Faith:  Our faith is based on the principles of the Historic Apostle’s and Nicene Creeds.

We believe:

  • In one truine, God who is all-powerful, all-present and all-knowing.
  • The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God.
  • Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully human.
  • The Holy Spirit is God making known God’s love and interest to all people.
  • Every person is justified by grace, a gift from God, through faith in Jesus Christ.
  • The Church serves to bring all people to God through Jesus Christ.

WORSHIP SCHEDULE
What-We-Believe-4

Join us on Sunday mornings at 11 AM for a contemporary worship celebration. Come as you are to enjoy uplifting music with a full band and a sermon by Pastor Greg Bullard.

Join us on Sunday evenings at 6 PM for a more focused look at our sermon topic. The evening sermon is often lead by a Covenant elder or associate pastor.

On alternating Wednesdays at 6:30 PM, join your local Circle for a casual, in-home gathering with your peers. The structured discussion will touch upon daily-life topics and how they relate to Pastor Greg’s most recent sermon.

Our weekly bible study meets at the church on Thursdays at 6 PM. Our associate pastor Elane O’Rourke leads the group in a deeper study of the previous Sunday’s sermon.

WHO WE ARE

The Ministry Team

Covenant’s church elders tend to the day-to-day needs of our congregation.

Our board of trustees facilitates business and financial matters.

IN THE COMMUNITY

WE ARE MORE THAN JUST A BUILDING

2014:  Human Rights Campaign Community Service Award

2011:  OutCentral Autumn Honors

EVENTS

Covenant of the Cross has actively participated in many Nashville events including the Tomato Arts Festival, Nashville Pride, and AIDSWalk. Check back here regularly for information on where we’ll next be in the community!

SERVICE PROJECTS

Operation Backpack is underway! Covenant is gathering snacks, school supplies, jackets, and other items to fill backpacks for Nashville area youth who are in need. Last year, this project benefitted more than 50 local students. This year we anticipate reaching more than 50 again. For information on how to contribute, contact Gina Sparks, Carly Price, or Scott Miller.

DONATE TO THE FOOD PANTRY

Every can and every dollar makes a difference to someone in need. Covenant of the Cross is always accepting non-perishable food, monetary donations, and the gifts of time and labor in preparing food boxes. Contact Ben Parker for more information about how you can assist with one of our biggest service projects.
